Bexley FC Run for Moore

On Sunday 5th of July 2009 a group from Bexley FC put on their running shoes and took part in the Run for Moore charity 5k event held on Blackheath.  Between them they manage to raise a staggering amount of over £1000 for Cancer Research.  What an incredible acheivement.  Chairman Terry Peck said that he was really pleased that so many of the club decided to join him in this annual fund raiser.

Under 13's Hit The Ground Running

Congratulations to Rob and the boys!!
A great start for new Bexley FC Manager Rob Edwards.

Rob is joining Bexley FC as Manager and Coach of our new Kent Under 13 team for season 2009/10.

He is currently running trials at the Club every Tuesday and entered the London Playing Fields 8 a-side Football Festival at the Marathon Ground, Shooters Hill on Sunday 14th June with some of the boys currently training.

They were in a group of 5 teams with some tough opposition. They played 4 group games, with one draw and 3 wins, putting them at the top of the group, going in to a semi final against Gridlockaz. They won this game 2-1 in extra time which put them in the final against Young Guns. The final was a very close competitive game and we finished runners up, losing this match 1-0.

Congratulations to Rob and the boys. A fantastic morning. The boys worked very hard with temperatures in the mid 70's!

Bexley Football Club Achieve the FA Charter Standard Club Award

A Message From Chairman Terry Peck

After many months of hard work by Chris Cook and Lorraine Peck generating, gathering and collating information, reports and policies, we at Bexley FC have been awarded the prestigious FA Charter Standard Club Award. As Sir Trevor Brooking, the FA Director of Football Development states ‘The FA Charter Standard Programme provides recognition that clubs are well run and sustainable, with child protection and safety paramount. It also recognises a club's commitment to coaching, player and coach development, and the raising of standards of behaviour in the game - all of which are big priorities for both me and The FA.’  I am very proud that we are now part of an elite list of Football Clubs and can also display the accredited FA Charter Standard Club Logo.

Congratulations to everyone, what a fantastic achievement!

Bexley FC Supports Overseas Charity

The old Bexley FC kits are donated to a charity supporting a village called Pugyango in Northern Burkina Faso. It’s a very poor part of the world and in fact they have recently lost all of their crops in the floods. They will be facing famine in the coming months! They are a farming community and are subsistance farmers. It’s quite a large village spread over a huge area about 1,000 people live there. They are Mossi tribe. Only about a third of the children go to school as they have only one small building and the government will not supply teachers without a proper school building! Also the children have to supply their own books and pens so if they can’t afford them they can’t attend.

It was great to receive these photographs and a heart warming thank you from the children.
