Bexley F.C. v Samuel Montagu
Bexley Bounce Back!
Bexley won the toss and kicked off the first half. Slow to start Bexley were under pressure and were punished by Samuel Montagu with two well worked goals. Samuel Montagu continued to dominate, playing some good football and were deservedly 2-0 up at half time.
Both teams began the second half well with Samuel Montagu continuing to match their first half performance. Suddenly Bexley halved the score with a well worked goal from Captain James Low, who cut in from the left and drilled a low drive into the right hand corner. Although Samuel Montagu continued to create chances Bexley levelled to 2-2 with another goal from James who individually powered through the middle of Montagu’s defence and slotted home. At 2-2 both teams had good chances to take the lead, however it was the visitors who went ahead 2-3 after another well worked goal. Following the kick off, James picked up the ball and again ran through the defence, completing his hat-trick with an almost identical finish to his previous goal. Tied at 3-3, Samuel Montagu continued to put Bexley under pressure and with a free kick, hit the right hand post from just outside the penalty area. With both teams searching for the winner and time running out, a huge kick from Bexley goalkeeper Zak 2 minutes from time bounced in front of his opposite number and over his head for the winner. Bexley could have added to the score after Harry Foy broke free on the right narrowly missing with a left foot shot.
An entertaining game from both sides finished 4-3 to Bexley.
